Why we do what we do?

Give Zero is born from the need to avoid more women asking "How come no one told me?" when menopause transition symptoms start.

Our Mission

To ensure no woman suffers alone through her hormonal transition. We believe suffering is not part of aging.

Our Goal

To build a comprehensive resource where you can get reliable information about your symptoms and all available options.

Our Promise

We owe women a huge debt in care delivery and information. We wait no more.

Yes, all women will go through this transition but we don't need to suffer and we certainly don't need to do it alone. The normalization of menopause-related suffering has led to generations of women being dismissed when they seek care.

Many are told that their symptoms are just a part of aging or, worse, that they're exaggerated or imagined. Suffering is not part of aging!

We are building a resource where you can input your symptoms, analytics, age, biomarkers and get reliable resources and information about what you are going through. Get information about all your therapy options, lifestyle strategies and protocols, nutritional strategies, exercise, and stress reduction techniques. Purchase lab tests and get the results on your dashboard. Connect to your wearables and get notifications for you, for your specific context.

Who is behind Give Zero?

I am Pia Mancini, a tech entrepreneur who started this journey a couple of years ago when I turned 40. I have always suffered from sporadic migraines, even before my first period, but after I turned 37 they started coming monthly, with a vengeance.

Before I found the right medication I would frequently spend 2/3 days in the dark and could end up in the ER. With a family history of Alzheimer's and an apoe4 gene (elevated risk) protecting my brain has become a priority.

I started reading and researching, and landed in Lisa Mosconi's fantastic books, Brain Food and The XX Brain. Dr. Mosconi studies the connection between the decline in Estrogen and changes in women's brains that make them vulnerable to neurodegenerative diseases. 2/3rds of Alzheimer's patients are women!

I did what any woman would do and called my mum, my sister and my best friend! I found out my mum had her menopause at 45 which is a strong marker of when my last period can be. In my research I had learned about something called perimenopause - the transition that goes from when symptoms start before the end of your period.

I had no idea this was a thing! And that was my first: "How come no one told me about this!"

What is this hushed hushed situation and why are we not fixing this? My OBG-YN was less than helpful, he looked at me perplexed and asked, but how old are you? 41. But do you have hot flushes? No… Well come back when you do. I kid you not.

Not a single question about my brain, my family history, what I wanted to prevent… nothing. And that's when I said, f*ck this, it can't be that hard to get the answers I need and Give Zero came to be.

Give Zero is the doctor we all wish we had.

It is a platform that will help you get back control of your health. That will help you refocus on you, prioritize what you need and Give Zero Fs to those who tell you that you are too young, too old, too overreacting, too depressed, too confused to know what's going on with YOUR BODY.
